Each canvas I paint is handmade.
I have painted frequently for awhile now, but when I decided to make this a daily routine it quickly became a family affair. I wanted to work with various sizes, so my most admired man stepped in and began making canvas frames in his wood shop at my family home. There have been many days when Dad has built a dozen frames in the smoldering Southern heat or freezing cold, allowing me to meet deadlines or feed a creative high I can’t postpone. This has not only made my process a little easier, but has also allowed the foundation of each painting to be more poignant and collaborative.
